APPLICATION OF CIRCLES IN REAL LIFE

APPLICATION OF CIRCLES IN REAL LIFE

A CIRCLE IS A 2-DIMENSIONAL SHAPE DEFINED AS A COLLECTION OF THE EQUIDISTANT POINTS ON A PLANE FROM A CERTAIN FIXED POINT. WE ALL HAVE SEEN CIRCLES IN OUR DAY-TO-DAY LIFE. OUR HOME, SCHOOL. WORKPLACE, RECREATION SPOTS, THE WORLD IN SHORT IS FILLED WITH CIRCLES. CIRCLE IS A SHAPE WHICH IS PRESENT ABSOULETY EVERYWHERE - MYTHOLOGY, ARCHITECTURE, OUTER SPACE, NATURE- EVERYWHERE. IN THIS BLOG I WILL DISCUSS ABOUT HOW AND WHERE THESE CIRCLES ARE USED.

MYTHOLOGY-

The circle the best represents the Hindu universe, because Hindus see the world as being timeless, cyclical and infinite. The universe is the medium through which the divine presents itself. It is window to the divine.

A magic circle is a sacred space marked out by some practitioners of ritual magic. These circles are believed to contain energy that forms a sacred space to provide protection for the practice of magic spells and invocation of gods and spirits. This ancient practice took place in ancient Babylonian and Neo-Assyrian Period, at least three thousand years ago.

NATURE-

We see circles in so many flowers, seeds and plants and the food we eat. We have only to spot the rings in a tree’s growth, the perfect circular cup of the acorn and ripples in puddles to be reminded of what the ancients called the ‘monad’ in natural forms in this universe.
Giant snowballs were discovered on the northwest coast of Siberia, created by small ice crystals being blown by wind and waves along a stretch of coastline creating giant snowballs up to 1 metre in diameter. The formation was the result of the current sequence of weather patterns and the natural lay of the coastline providing the perfect rolling ground.

OUTER SPACE

The planets orbit the sun on paths that are concentric. We also see concentric circles in the rings of Saturn but we also see a unique symmetry in outer space that is unique (as far as scientists can tell) and that is the symmetry between the earth, moon and sun that makes a solar eclipse possible.

Cycles exist on a planetary majestic level too. Almost too large for our brains to comprehend. On earth we take part in the cycle of seasons throughout the year, governed by the (almost) circular pattern of rotation of the earth around the sun and its axial tilt.

we see the full moon as a circle presented to us every month. Yet that’s not to dismiss the rest of the month, the different phases of the moon are the interplay of one circle onto another. ‘But that is a sphere’ I hear you cry. Yes, it is. But from our perspective it is two dimensional. When we examine the interplay of other spheres with the moon we start to understand its three dimensionality.

THE CIRCLE OF LIFE
Now let’s broaden that scale of dimensionality further and think about cycles. So often connected with the circle. Plant cycles, life cycles have always held close associations to us with the rhythm of a circle. Never ending pattern of life.

CONCLUSION

WRITING THIS BLOG AND DOING ALL THE RESEARCH SHOWED ME HOW VALUABLE MATHEMATICS IS IN OUR LIFE, EVERY ASPECT OF OUR LIFE IS FILLED WITH INTERESTING CONCEPTS OF MATHEMATICS. THIS PROJECT SHOWED AND TAUGHT ME HOW TO SEE THINGS AND WORLD WITH A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE, A MATHEMATICAL PERSPECTIVE.
